Post over in the campground forum might give you more replies. Nah, OP is looking for a "Fifth Wheel Only" park. Why else would he post it here?:?

RE: Elkhart Indiana

Another vote for the Elkhart CG - Exit 92 Indiana Tollway, north to 1st light, right (east) one long block past the 1st stop sign. Great cg hosts. Level sites, mostly pull thrus and mostly full hookups plus WiFi

RE: Naples Florida - Crystal Lake RV Resort

And a 3rd park to add to your mix is Silver Lakes Golf & RV Resort (right next to Pelican). All 3 parks are 'resort' parks and all are located on Collier Blvd (Rt 951). Crystal is on the northeast side of Naples and slightly more remote. Pelican & Silver are on the southeast side between Marco Is and Naples and are closer to shopping, beaches etc. Some pix of Silver are linked in my sig.

RE: To purchase a RV lot in a park... or not!

You certainly said it right, IMO, Bumpy. We love the Naples area and the winter weather here and it's nice not to have to 'fight' for a reservation and it's nice to come and go as we wish and when we wish. In our case, DW has the need for several medical specialists to follow her and, as such, we need a place to return to each year for that. Recuperating on a beach ain't all bad. As we've done before, when we get sick of this area, we'll sell the lot, find a new place somewhere and reestablish relationships with needed medical providers.
Profits, so far, from the sale of our prior RV lot have paid for most of our 11 yrs of FT camping and appreciation on the current lot, even at today's prices, will cover at least another decade.

RE: Credit/Criminal Checks for 30+ days at campground?

Last time this was discussed in the campground section of the forum, it seemed as though there were some CA parks doing this. Apparently the monthly rental there establishes the criteria for eviction for non payment as monthly too. So if a monthly doesn't pay, they can't evict for another month, ergo, they want to know credit history in order to determine who might or might not stiff them. It's their cg and their rules and one can either comply, move on or pay daily rates.

RE: Great Place to Get Repairs & Maintenance

We had some furniture, that we had made, drop shipped to Fox RV and when it was ready, they took our old out and moved the new stuff in. The place was busy and it appeared as though they did nice, careful work (I could see them doing some collision or reconstruction work, painting and graphics). It also looked like they did a lot of interior refurbishing business as they had a 10x20 or so room set up with different cabinet styles, ceramic and wood flooring material, fabrics and other interior remodeling stuff.
Their address is 13431 County Road 22 (S of US20) and their toll free phone # is 877-FIXMYRV

RE: Mail Alternatives?

I have two mail forwarding addresses, in different states, that I use for two different purposes. Only those that I want to mail to address "A" get address "A" from me and only those that I want to mail to address "B" get that address. One of those addresses is the one I also use for my D/L, registration etc. We also own a RV lot in FL where we winter and use that address for local FL doctors etc who send their mail to that 3rd address. When we are traveling, we put in a postal mail fwd request in to send to one of the mail forwarding addresses.

RE: A CAMPGROUND WITHOUT HOLIDAY SPIRIT ?????

Crowe - what are you talkin' about?? Some person person takes stuff, with or without my permission, from either my trash or my recycle bins and that person takes the money she gets from that endeavor and buys stuff to put in Christmas baskets that she then donates to poor people, rich people, whatever and there is somehow 'tax implications' to me? Give me a break!
If the cg manager had cited that the cg owner was concerned about the potential liability if an invitee, such as this lady, cut off her finger while reaching into the recycle bin or they were concerned that snakes might take up residence in the recycle bin or whatever, one could understand. But to be so slow on the uptake with the newspaper interviewer so as to answer the "why won't you let this lady take your cans" question by blaming the tax code tells one a lot about the cg manager.

RE: Putting my 5th wheel on jack stands for the winter

I full time in mine and it weighs another 3 ton. It rests on its axles all the time. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to get some jack stands? My truck is constantly on its axles also. What about that?

RE: A CAMPGROUND WITHOUT HOLIDAY SPIRIT ?????

There's more to this than the one-sided article states. Typical news writing slanted toward one viewpoint.
-TomSince you don't state this as your supposition or guess, but rather as a rock solid fact, why don't you, Tom, let us in on exactly, from your own personal and unslanted viewpoint, what the rest of the story is. Don't guess, just give us all the facts.

RE: Tampa, Ft Myers

Can't think of the name of it, but there is a nice SP in Estero. Between Ft. Myers and Naples. I used to live in Ft Myers... still a busy snow bird time of year! Google Florida state parks, there's quite a few nice parks in the area you're looking for.Koreshan SP

RE: 5th Wheel Shore Power?

OMG!!! We full time and have done so for 11 yrs now and except for the actual travel days and travel time during those days, ours is always plugged in. Using my calculator and an average of one move per week, that means it's plugged in 95%+ of the time. What can I do to save my fifth???? Or is it too late?? :)
Seriously, shouldn't be a problem.

RE: Camping Oceanside

Perhaps you need to define "oceanside" better cause, with a cg directory you should be able to find quite a number that would fit my definition of same. Myrtle Beach has any number of large and not so large cgs that are oceanside. Same can be said of the OBX and Beaufort/Emerald Isle areas of NC. The east coast of FL has a number of public and private parks that would seem to fit the bill from JAX, Melbourne Bch, Hutchinson Island at Jensen Beach with cgs straddling the land between the ICW and the ocean and down to Jupiter. Then, of course, there are the Keys.
While the cgs are oceanside, there's no guaranty that your site will be on the beach but... Unless you want to camp below the high tide line, there's a lot of choices. We don't camp with pets so I can't speak to the pet rule. If you don't want to buy a directory, maybe you might want to check www.rvparkreviews.com

NC; Union Grove; Van Hoy Farms Family CG; 704-539-5493; Exit 65 I-77 North of Charlotte; Very nice, neat CG near X-way. Big pavillion for Blue grass concerts etc so call ahead to be sure there’s room. Most restaurants 14 mi south at Statesville.

RE: Trucks only

My understanding is that on federal highways and interstates, across the country, the word 'truck' refers to commercial trucks only - i.e., you also are required to maintain log books, have a CDL etc. I would believe, to avoid confusion, most states would also follow that definition on their roads.
It is why on trucks that might easily be confused as a commercial truck, (HDT & MDT) you often see the sign that says something to the effect "Not for Hire". Though that signage is meaningless in law, it does give a heads up to DOT enforcement that it might be a waste of time to stop that vehicle.
It is also why there are frequently more restrictive or explanatory signage such as "No trailers" or weight related or axle related signs.

RE: Check this CG out

Looking at their site, I sure can't tell if I would want to camp there but it appears that they either serve coffee there or else sell mugs. Not sure what else they do. The site sure lacks proper focus. Hope they didn't pay to have it developed.

RE: Bait and Switch

I think he had every reason to be 'nasty' and with all of Donna's adjectives, I suspect that anyone who remotely disagrees with her would have those adjectives applied to him or her. Donna, it seems to me, admits that a former employee, in a position to commit the resort, made a deal with OP. Unbeknownst to OP (no phone call, no email or even followup mail - they had his address since they sent a receipt) this resort discovered that this employee (agent) made a mistake (or is claiming that) and is using that as the reason for reneging on their agreement. I read nothing in their disclaimer to show that they can change a made deal and a receipt in hand is better evidence of a prior made deal than is some "Donna's" verbal, after the fact, claim that some employee, no longer available to defend him/herself, made a mistake.
I know I'd expect better treatment from the campground. I think they have both a legal and moral basis to honor their commitment. With a mgr like Donna, who does not stand behind the commitment of employees, anyone who makes a deal with that park should get it in writing that they are dealing only with the owner cause apparently the park will not stand behind the words of anyone other than the owner.
To the OP, good think you're rid of this park and with luck, your "friends" who subsequently threw you under the bus. With friends like that...
